Years ago I read this inspiring quote below from the founding father of The Feldenkrais Method:
“If you know what you are doing, you can do what you want.” Moshe Feldenkrais
For me, this is the gateway to a life in balance. Knowing and feeling what you are doing gives you the ability to choose and create other options. And for exactly that reason, I enrolled in the 4-year Feldenkrais (somatic movement education) teacher training in 2005. And what an inspiring journey this was.
As a dancer, a world of possibilities in expression and movement opened up to me. However, the most powerful transformation was very personal: I changed from an overstressed, nervous and anxious girl with all kinds of compulsive habits into a woman who feels in tune with her body, who feels that she is in control of what she wants, who is able to move with ease and confidence in all directions, physically and emotionally, to set boundaries, and to consciously choose joy, vibrancy, peacefulness, and well-being.
I have discovered what it means to effortlessly find balance in many areas of my life by literally and figuratively making a different movement. I have not had any lingering tension, pain, or insomnia since.
What will we do?
In this week we will explore the physical, emotional, and mental patterns that interfere with the feeling of “being in balance. And we explore what movement we can make mentally and physically to create balance from our foundation.

Balance is a dynamic state.
Balance is primarily a sensation, a feeling state. When our physical constellation is functioning optimally we experience a sense of equilibrium. What we actually experience is that muscles, bones, organs, breath, gravity, and intention work together effortlessly with sublime teamwork. We are aware of our emotions and how they affect us physically and mentally. We know how to change our emotional state to regain our balance; mentally, emotionally, and physically. This gives us a deep sense of confidence, stability, and joy in our bodies. It calms our mind and calms our autonomic nervous system.
Our brain is programmed to constantly create a pattern of dynamic balance: homeostasis. Our life experiences can mess this up quite a bit. Fortunately, our brain has the amazing ability to reprogram itself. When we change the physical pattern, we immediately change how we perceive, feel and think. The body is the way in, movement is the instrument.

This Feldenkrais week empowers you to take back inner leadership. You will heal long-lasting stress, tension, and tiredness through deep insight into what you do, and how you can do differently to be more present with yourself.

What to expect?
Every day we will dive into movement and creativity through ‘Awareness through Movement’ exploration, and creative process. All workshops are outside in our tranquil olive grove.
I will use a combination of creative assignments, gentle movement exploration, visualization, imagery, and sensory suggestions to help you become aware of your emotional, physical, and mental patterns. We will spend time in stillness and walk in nature.
Balance is a natural free state of being! Nature has its inspiring way to create balance effortlessly. When we become quiet and allow curiosity to guide our senses, we tap into nature’s wise lessons for unwinding our stressed nervous systems, and tight bodies We start to reconnect with the world in, below, and around us, and recalibrate ourselves for joy, and inner peace.
This week is suitable for women of all ages, regardless of experience or condition.
The retreat starts on Saturday night with a welcome diner and circle. The next Saturday morning will be the departure. There will be 2 Dance Movement Creativity sessions a day, with exception of Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Friday night we will have a farewell party
All retreats include:
- Lunch, dinner, (non-alcoholic) drinks & snacks
- All morning and afternoon group sessions
- Daily pick up at a meeting point in Lanjarón
Not included in the price of € 590 are:
- Your travel costs
- Transportation from and to Malaga Airport
- Cancellation insurance
- Travel insurance
- 1-1 sessions
- Trips to the beach & the mountains
In the form, you can indicate if you want to book accommodation with us (limited space). We offer the possibility to share our cabana, bell tent or our 1-person tent at an additional cost. Guests staying on our land share shower and toilet facilities. We serve breakfast for guests who stay overnight with us.
Or you can arrange your own stay. There are many friendly priced Airbnb’s and hotels in the area. There is a variety of choices from very basic to luxury accommodation. We can assist you.
In the form, you can also indicate if you want to arrange transportation to and from the airport through us. Please note that we will only pick you up around the end of the afternoon. Drop-off time at the airport depends on the person with the earliest flight. A one-way trip from/to Malaga airport varies from € 70,- to € 18,- depending on the number of persons in the car. You will pay directly to the driver.
Or you can arrange your own transport. There are quite some options from renting a car to taking an ALSA bus to Granada and from there to Lanjaron.
You will receive a payment request for a deposit within 24 hours after booking. Only when this amount is received, your place is reserved.
Cancellation free of charge is possible until 1 month before the retreat!
Our cancellation policy:
- Up to 1 month before the retreat we refund the total deposit.
- Up to 3 weeks before the retreat: 75% refund.
- Till 2 weeks before the retreat 50 % refund.
- Up to 1 week before the retreat starts 25% refund.
- Less than 7 days before the retreat starts no refund of payment
We recommend cancellation insurance! In the rare case that we have to cancel the retreat due to force majeure, we will arrange suitable replacement where possible and in consultation. In case of cancellation on our part, you will receive your payment to us back. We do not refund airfare and accommodation costs.
