Self Awareness in sensing, feeling, thinking and action through the language of movement
How do you move? And how does that make you feel?
Wouldn’t it be great if your body is the most fabulous place to live in! That you feel relaxed, graceful and energized whatever you do. Discover new ways to move and to support yourself with ease and freedom by tapping into your body’s potential. Find out how you move and how you can move in the most pleasurable way…
Years ago I read this inspiring quote below from the founding father of The Feldenkrais Method:
“If you know what you are doing, you can do what you want.” Moshe Feldenkrais
For me, this is the essence of feeling empowered. And exactly for this reason, I signed up for the 4 years of Feldenkrais teacher training in 2005. And what an inspiring journey this was. I switched from a depressed, insecure girl with eating disorders to a woman that felt confident and at home in her body. And as a dancer a world op possibilities in expressing and moving opened up for me. I discovered what it means to move with grace and sensuality.
So how could it help you?
I find that playing with Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement explorations regularly will help you find focus and center yourself firmly in both your body and mind. You will find that you function much better in your daily life challenges as your whole nervous system finally gets a chance to unwind from stress and overwhelm. Knowing what you do and how you do it gives you back your ability to create options and have choices. How would it be if you are no longer the manager of your circumstances, instead you are the co-creator of your own health and vitality?
I got a very nice review today from my 80-year-old father, who follows my Feldenkrais online programs for happy shoulders and backs, to nurture his vitality and be able to keep enjoying life’s possibilities to the fullest available to him.
“I get happy every time,
when I feel the results of these soft and slow movements after each lesson…
it makes me more and more supple …
it gives you a nice relaxed feeling every time after an hour of slow and quiet movement
with a reasonable ”passive” form of concentration
With Feldenkrais I feel younger every time.
The sometimes mystical, gentle voice of Ingeborg also makes the relaxation more intense.” (Arnoud Braat)
For me this is a great example of how one can age with grace and joy and keep his autonomy in a powerful way. I feel very inspired by his uninhibited curiosity to continue learning, discovering and growing. Thank you dad
In the lessons I guide people helping themselves to stand, sit, walk, lift, run, and much more without causing tension, pain, or fatigue in their body. To feel what awareness of movement does to their body and brain and how it gives them more vitality, calmness and balance in their everyday activities. Do you want to discover how you can be more user-friendly for your body?
Moshe Feldenkrais used to say:
“Movement is life. Life is a process. Improve the quality of the process and you improve the quality of life itself.” Moshe Feldenkrais
How does it work?
Neuroscience discovered that by slowing down and reducing effort in movement, we get the full attention of our Central Nervous system: The driving force behind all movement, thoughts, feelings, and action. It organizes itself through the input of movement. Through playful and creative movement explorations, we re-train the Central nervous system’s capacity for creating new connections and new possibilities. You will find that changing the way you move will transform your physical, emotional and mental state and confront habits that keep you from feeling your inner sparkle.
“The only thing permanent about our behaviour patterns is our belief that they are so.” Moshe Feldenkrais
