Our inner sparkle sanctuary Jardin de Luz lies amidst peaceful olive and citrus groves. It is embedded in the earthy, powerful energy of the Alpujarra mountains on the south side of the Sierra Nevada National Park, in Granada province in Spain.
We are within walking distance of the lively, friendly mountain village of Lanjarón and close to the bohemian village of Orgiva.
The nearest beaches are a 40-minute drive away. The city of Granada is 60 minutes by bus and 45 minutes by car.
The Alpujarra way of life is simple, honest, pure, and closely intertwined with the calm rhythms of nature. The Alpujarra is known for its pure air, beautiful nature, pristine spring water, an abundance of colorful healing herbs, rich wildlife, and enchanting walks in the mountains, where we breathe in the ancient culture of the Moors, walking along centuries-old irrigation channels and medieval donkey trails.
Jardin de Luz offers a friendly, caring atmosphere where you can be truly you.
It is the perfect setup for coming back to self and to rest, digest, and recharge. Our large outdoor dance space with a wooden floor, facing the ancient pine forest and high mountain peaks of The Sierra Nevada, offers an intimate setting for gentle healing, and playful self-discovery, allowing your inner world to be felt and expressed.
In our wild orchard, there are many lovely spots to retreat alone. The pool behind the guesthouse offers another quiet spot, among the trees and surrounded by nature. Our shaded outdoor dining area offers an inviting space for connection, meaningful conversations and fun.
Information about accommodations in Sanctuary jardin de Luz
Next to the main house is a guest house. It has a large spacious bedroom equipped with a comfortable double bed, wardrobe, seating area, French doors with fly screens and a fan.It has its own spacious bathroom with rain shower, bidet, and wash basin.
The room has a beautiful view over the olive groves and hills.
The guest house further offers a well-equipped kitchen with a homely dining area for all guests to use. Behind the house is the swimming pool which is also available to all guests of Jardin de Luz. There are nice seating areas overlooking the olive groves and farmlands.
Next to the main house is a guest house. It has two cosy small bedrooms. Both are equipped with a comfortable bed, a window with a flyscreen, and a small wardrobe. We provide a fan in summer and electric heating in the rooms in winter. They share a bathroom, and toilet in the hallway. If you book a private retreat, you will have the bathroom all to yourself.
Both rooms have a nice view over the olive groves and hills.
The guest house offers a well-equipped kitchen with a homely dining area for all guests to use. Behind the house is the swimming pool which is also available to all guests of Jardin de Luz. There are nice seating areas overlooking the olive groves and farmlands.
Located in a quiet area on our Finca, this cosy private 1-room cabana offers guests a peaceful, luxurious camping experience. It has a comfortable single bed with mosquito net, seating area, and window screens. A fan is available during the hot days in July and August.
The cabana has its own private eco-toilet nearby, and a small sitting area outside overlooking the valley where eagles nest. The bathroom with rain shower and toilet is next to the main house. It is shared with a maximum of one other person. When you book a private retreat, you´ll have this bathroom all to yourself.
The kitchen in the guest house and the swimming pool are also open to guests staying in the cabana.
This spacious bell tent, located in a quiet area on our Finca, offers guests a tranquil, camping experience. The tent is equipped with a real bed mattress and a mosquito net. It has a little lounge area outside

Guests staying in the tent can use the kitchen in the guesthouse and the swimming pool behind the guesthouse
Our retreats offer you a digital detox to lower your stress levels, feel more connected to your deeper needs, calm your nervous system, and enjoy your retreat to the fullest. Therefore free wifi is only available on the terraces of the main house.
The swimming pool is open from 31 May to 31 September.

How to get to Inner Sparkle Sanctuary Jardin de Luz?
Book your flight to Malaga Airport (AGP) or F.G.L. Airport Granada-Jaen Airport (GRX)
Malaga Airport is a 90-minute drive from our sanctuary Jardin de Luz. Many budget airlines fly into this airport. Most of our guests arrive here
Granada Airport is closer, a 60-minute drive away. It handles mostly domestic flights and European flights.
From the Airports of Malaga and Granada there are 3 options to reach our venue:
Pick up and Drop off service from the Airport of Malaga or Granada:
The most convenient way to travel from Malaga or Granada Airport to Lanjaron is to have a driver of the Alpujarra Airport Transfer pick you up and possibly also drop you off. Those costs are not included in the retreat price. We are happy to help you arrange a pick-up and/or drop-off at the airport.
Malaga Airport (AGP) is 90 minutes distance from our sanctuary Jardin de Luz.
Alpujarra Airport Transfer charges 90 euros for pick-up or drop-off. Or 180 euros for both pick-up and drop-off.
Airport Granada-Jaen (GRX) is 60 minutes distance from our sanctuary Jardin de Luz.
Alpujarra Airport Transfer charges 65 euros for pick-up or drop-off. Or 130 euros for both pick-up and drop-off.
Costs may be lower if Alpujarra Airport Transfer can arrange a shared ride to or from either Airport. They will try to combine rides as much as possible. You pay the cost directly in cash to the driver.
What we need to book one of the Alpujarra Airport transfer services for you:

Public transport per ALSA bus
The public transport company in Andalucia is called ALSA.
From Malaga Airport, there is a direct bus to Granada´main busstation. It takes around 2 hrs.
There also goes a bus from Granada Airport to the main bus station of Granada.
From the main bus station of Granada, you can travel by bus to Lanjarón. This bus only runs a few times a day and will take about 1 to 1,5 hrs.
In the summer months, it is best to book the bus trip in advance through the ALSA web. Ticket booking and exact timetables can be found on the website of ALSA: https://www.alsa.com/en/
In Lanjarón we will pick you up at the bus stop at the main roundabout. All retreat participants will receive our Whatsapp numbers in advance to contact us upon arrival or as needed.
We can assist you at any time.
Renting a car at Malaga Airport.
Car rentals, not located directly at the airport venue, offer better prices. And mostly they have a little shuttle bus to take you from the Airport to their car park a few kilometers away from the Airport and vice versa. The information for Granada Airport will mostly be the same.
Our place is located in a mountain area, away from urban settlements. Not all roads to our Finca are paved. Although most of the roads are tarmac, you encounter a rocky, dirt road for the last 100 meters to our Finca.
You can get there in a normal car (like we have). It is not necessary at all to rent a 4×4 or SUV. We do recommend to rent a car that is a bit higher on the wheels. We also recommend taking out all-in insurance for the hire car.
Remember to check whether you need an international driving license to drive in Spain. For EU citizens, this is not required.
Some affordable car rental companies that people have used:
To avoid misunderstandings; all travel expenses, such as airport transfer, bus etc, are not included in the retreat price.
What to bring
Clothes
You will be moving, and dancing, so clothes in which you feel comfortable and happy and in which you can move freely are recommended. I recommend you bring clothes that may get dusty, and dirty as we also do some creative practices. All art materials I use can be washed out easily.
I also recommend that you bring clothes that you can wear in layers. So you can adjust according to temperature. We will possibly make a trip to the higher mountain villages or beaches.
Footwear.
All dance and movement workshops will take place on the wooden outdoor floor. They are meant to be done barefoot or with footwear with a thin, flexible sole. Personally, I use toe pads or anti-slip socks on the colder days whereas I dance barefoot when the weather permits me.
I recommend bringing a pair of walking shoes/sneakers. We request that no shoes be worn indoors. We offer simple slippers for indoor use if you can’t bring any so no worries.
Towels, bed linen, and toiletries
Bedlinen and two towels are provided by us. We also provide you with a beach towel to use at the swimming pool during summer retreats. In winter we provide warm socks and slippers to wear in the guest house and main house.
We also offer a small organic artisanal soap bar.
We ask you to bring all other toiletries like tooth brush, toothpaste, shampoo etc. yourself.
