Organic Intelligence®
Post Trauma Growth Coaching
From inner polarization to inner coherence

A shift from contraction to ease, from a feeling of stuckness to felt freedom,
from feeling numb to a lived experience of aliveness.

Organic Intelligence® Post Trauma Growth: is a coaching process developed by Steve Hoskinson that focuses on empowering our natural biological ability to heal and organise ourselves by shifting attention from trauma to the body’s natural tendency towards self healing and growth.
At the core, this is about expanding your capacity to be with yourself and life—without overwhelm, shutdown, or disconnection.
In my Organic Intelligence sessions, I support the re-patterning of how shame, anxiety and self-worth are organised in your body through attuned presence and exploring together what naturally wants to arise to self organise. This allows for changes in capacity, bandwidth, and neural patterns that happen when the nervous system feels safe enough to stop protecting.
I create a space where your body no longer needs to organise around protection, or holding it all together. As inner intensity softens, your system begins to reorganise toward ease, resilience, and presence.
Organic Intelligence® is rooted in a neurobiological understanding of trauma, embodied awareness, and lived experience. It integrates complexity science, Somatic Experiencing, the work of Milton Erickson, the ideas of Carl Jung, polyvagal theory, psychology, and Aikido among other practices.
Where attention goes, the brain follows
As an OI practitioner, I am guided by the wisdom of your system. I help you deepen genuine self-compassion, connection, attunement, and the skill to flow with the intelligence of your nervous system.
Your biological system constantly sends subtle, resourceful messages through your senses, sensations, emotions, inner images, thoughts, and movements to help you heal, organise, and expand your capacity to meet life’s challenges with greater ease.
What if the way is out instead of in…
I assist you in attending to the present moment. This allows your nervous system to map itself here and now through the senses, receiving the correct “GPS data” to orient to life as it is. From here, it can build new prediction maps rooted in the present moment rather than the more intense inner world. Intensity can settle, creating more room for your system’s natural, self-organising impulses to surface and strengthen.
I help you become aware of these impulses towards harmonising the underlying biology. I help you become aware of these impulses towards harmonising the underlying biology and begin to follow them. From here, the self-healing and auto-organising capacities of your system are reinforced, and natural oscillations of rest and action, expansion and contraction begin to return.

Move from inner polarisation to inner cohesion
Discover how you can work with your nervous system by following the innate intelligence of your biological system.
As an Organic Intelligence® coach, I meet you through a free-associative conversation—gentle, easy, non-directive, and non-forcing. In this space, I follow the subtle growth and regulation impulses of your neurobiology, allowing unresolved intensity to settle and natural rhythms to re-emerge. This supports your system in restoring capacity, so it can respond to life with more ease and flexibility.
Over time, your nervous system begins to free itself from protective patterns and habitual holding, and re-opens to its natural potential for regulation, connection, and growth.
Organic Intelligence is at the root of MAMA’s philosophy and woven through its four pathways: Map – Anchor – Move – Align
It invites you to:
- feel and express more fully you
- live in tune with your inner and unique rhythms
- tap into your vitality, resilience, and flow
- step into more authentic, unarmored connection
- align your inner compass with what is really deeply meaningful for you
And fatigue or overwhelm can begin to settle, bringing more ease into your body.

From Freeze to Flow
My own journey moved from freeze to flow, from shame and eroding self-worth to self-acceptance and self-love, from living disconnected from my body into my Sensuous Body Wise.
What I came to understand is this: lingering emotional intensity -shame, fear, loneliness, self-doubt – can exceed the nervous system’s capacity to process. When that happens, the system shifts into protection. These protective patterns quietly shape how we feel, think, and relate to ourselves.
The nervous system has a simple message: it doesn’t need more pressure. It needs less.
So this work is about softening inner intensity and expanding your capacity to stay with yourself – without overwhelm or collapse. What happens in the body shapes perception. And perception shapes identity, self-worth, and how we move through the world.
When we start at the root, this cycle begins to shift.
And when your system changes, perception changes. And when perception changes, self-worth and safety reorganise from within.
From here your system can begin to
- organise with ease
- move through natural cycles of activation and rest
- respond from presence instead of protection
And life becomes less about bracing… and more about being.
About a lived experience of inner freedom, Inner Sparkle, wholeness, and authentic connection – with yourself and others.
Living from who you are, rather than who you learned to be through past stories and experiences.

Why you may feel the way you feel
The negativity pull underneath
Your nervous system is designed to keep you alive and in balance. It naturally gives more attention to signals of imbalance than to what feels neutral or easy.
This can show up as tension, anxiety, restlessness, tightness, or a subtle sense that something is not quite right. They are signals from your system asking for care and attention.
Normally, your system is able to regulate itself. When you are thirsty, for example, your brain detects a shift in internal balance. This is experienced as dryness and a clear signal: I need water. Attention is drawn, action follows, and balance is restored. Arousal and felt intensity naturally settle as your system returns to its baseline rhythm.
This is how regulation works when cycles complete: attention follows need, activation rises just enough, and then everything returns to rest.
When experiences are overwhelming or too much to fully process, intensity can remain unresolved in the system. Instead of settling, it stays active in the background of the body.
Attention goes to inner arousal, and intensity rises through a perception of “what is wrong”. The body responds with tension or contraction, which draws the brain’s attention and reinforces more protection and more bracing. This, in turn, shapes the lens through which you perceive the world and yourself. The arousal remains heightened, and attention is drawn inward once again.
What emerges is what many people experience as a “negativity pull.”
This is a pattern of attention shaped by unresolved intensity—where what feels unresolved becomes what the system keeps returning to.
It is here, around this pull toward intensity and “what is wrong,” that patterns of shame, anxiety, and self-worth can begin to take shape. Attention repeatedly filters experience in a way that shapes how you perceive yourself and the world. This influences how you feel in your body, and your body state reinforces the same attentional patterns. This forms a self-reinforcing loop between attention, perception and bodily experience.
Over time, this can create a sense of continuous activation. More energy is used to manage intensity that is already present, which reduces overall capacity: vitality, clarity, resilience, and ease.
When capacity is limited, the system naturally prioritises protection. Expansion, openness, and joy become less available because they are not essential for immediate survival. When organised around protection, change can feel uncertain, even risky, so the system holds on to what is familiar, even when it limits vitality and engagement with life.
Our human environment often reinforces this orientation: attention is continuously drawn toward problems, comparison, and what is wrong. Gradually, the system becomes more sensitive to these signals as a way of staying safe.
You may notice this as tightness in the body, little or no energy, low-level anxiety, numbness, restlessness, a subtle self-critical tone, or a worry-shaped lens through which you meet life.
Shifting the pattern
Ease does not feel like change. By gently orienting to the present and toward experiences that feel easy and pleasurable, the system can gradually change without overwhelm, allowing new patterns to form.
In Organic Intelligence® this begins with:
-
Orientation through the senses into the present-moment environment
-
Orientation toward pleasure through the Free Associative Conversation
When you orient through your senses, attention moves outward into the here and now. The system receives new sensory input from the environment, helping it update its internal predictions and build new maps based on what is actually present.
In the Free Associative Conversation, attention is guided away from what is too intense and toward what is more digestible for the system. We move toward experiences that are easy to be with; states of ease, joy, pleasure, and simple presence that require less effort from the nervous system.
This creates the conditions for the system to find enough energy and space, allowing activation to settle toward baseline and gradually build more bandwidth, one shift at a time.
As a result, your biological channels of experience—sensations, emotions, images, and meaning—begin to receive new input. This creates fertile ground for patterns to gradually shift from protection toward presence, and from self-doubt, shame, and criticism toward embodied self-worth.
Self-organising intelligence
This brings us back to the intelligent, self-organising impulses of your system, natural movements that support a shift out of intensity and overwhelm, and back toward balance.
In an Organic Intelligence® session, we follow that movement by supporting what your system is already trying to do: complete activation and return to rest.
In doing so, we strengthen your system’s natural capacity to organise, regulate, and find balance.
From here, new patterns can begin to form, rooted in the present and allowing for more ease, clarity, and genuine connection.
